Barcelona has been a nest of artists to consider the last years. After being for a long time a city dedicated to import music, in a few years some notorious names have been exported to the whole world. John Talabot, Hivern and Delorean are the best examples and Pional, The Arkestra crew, Suara, etc., are some of the names consolidated in the international scene from the rest of Spain.
Now, some names like Headbirds, Alizzz or We Like Turtles are trying to be part of the new Underground club scene here and around the World.
We Like Turtles are Guillem and Xavi, two guys from the Tarragona province (next to Barcelona) who started making funny mashups and edits from classic dance anthems. They started digging old school dance music and got inspired by the drum machines' sound and the old house chords and strings from Trax Records and Strictly Rhythm and that's the way they music startet to turn into. Garage, Chicago House and some Techno are the base for a WeLT track.
In this release, the taste of the late 80's Hip House is present thanks to the contribution from Arufe, part of the Norweside Crew (Galicia, Spain), a popular and charismatic rapper from the underground who got the real full color spirit of the early 90's back to the present.
On the remixes, Alizzz, recently acclaimed for his release in MofoHifi will make this Hip House Anthem become a Gangsta Rap track with a big talent. Mark Luva took a journey from Bilbao and grabbed a bunch of springs from Jersey and warn the whole club with some horny sirens. Finally, Bitcode is making a clubby version of the track ready to make rumble any audience.
